About Me!

Well hello there, the name's Ergi Syurya Pratama and welcome to my Blog!

So, these are some of the essential information that you may or may not want to know about me.
As of the time I am typing this Blog, I'm currently 15 years old. My birthday is on the 5th of February in 2007. Currently I am a student studying in the 1st grade of high school, the school I'm attending at is SMAN 3 Bandung. The class I am in is X-7, it has 36 students in total with the occupancy of 14 male students and 22 female students. In my free time I like to listen to music, because it keeps me calm and help me collect my thoughts. I don't really enjoy going out except if I'm going with a certain group of people. I don't necessarily have any specialty in any field, but I have a weakness of having a bad memory. I'm pretty certain that information is enough to know some of the things about me, with that conclusion I'm gonna end the introduction here. Sincerely, the author of this blog.

By the way, here is a random quote that I've made:
"No matter what predicament is waiting for you in the future, just by standing there, you are doing the right thing."

 Reported Speech(?)

It was a peaceful afternoon at a training camp my class stayed in for 3 days. I was just walking leisurely around the place as there is nothing to do at the time, until some intrusive thoughts just entered my mind and began wondering "What would I do if I can go back in time?". I didn't know what I wanted to do if I can do that, but then I saw one of my classmate just sitting on a swing while mindlessly scrolling social media. With the intrusive thoughts and curiosity clashing with each other, I decided to go over to him and just asked him. "Hey! A little bit of a quick and random question but... what would you do if you were to be able to go back in time?" I asked him. "I think I want to be closer with her... nevermind its nothing." he replied to me and so I pretend to not hear it and shrug it off. After the answer he gave me, I began wondering that some people just want to have simple things in their life. Nothing big nor anything grand, just the little simple things that could make them happy.

Task 6 - Expository text writing

The rule of wearing uniforms in schools has been a long-standing tradition in many educational institutions worldwide. Proponents argue that uniforms promote a sense of belonging, discipline, and equality among students. However, there are also valid concerns regarding individuality, freedom of expression, and the potential for stifling creativity. In this essay, we will examine the pros and cons of the rule of wearing uniforms to school.

Pros:

1. Equality and Inclusion: Uniforms create a sense of equality among students by eradicating visible socio-economic differences. Regardless of their background or financial status, all students are dressed in the same attire, fostering a sense of unity and reducing the potential for bullying or discrimination based on clothing choices.

2. Discipline and Focus: Uniforms can contribute to a disciplined learning environment. By eliminating the distractions of fashion trends or flashy attire, students can focus more on their studies, fostering a sense of professionalism and academic engagement.

3. Safety and Security: Uniforms help to easily identify students and distinguish them from outsiders, enhancing the overall safety and security of the school. This can be particularly crucial during off-campus activities or school trips, where students need to be easily recognizable and accounted for.

4. Cost-Effectiveness: Uniforms can alleviate the financial burden on families. Instead of purchasing a wide variety of expensive clothing items, parents can invest in a few sets of uniforms, which tend to be more affordable and durable.

Cons:

1. Suppression of Individuality: Uniforms can limit students' ability to express their individuality and personal style. For some students, self-expression through clothing is an important aspect of their identity, and being forced to conform to a standardized dress code can be seen as stifling their creativity and uniqueness.

2. Limited Freedom of Expression: Clothing is often a medium through which individuals express their beliefs, cultural heritage, or personal interests. Imposing uniforms can curtail freedom of expression, denying students the opportunity to showcase their diversity and ideas through their attire.

3. Hindrance to Comfort and Expression: Uniforms may not be comfortable or suitable for every student. Some students may find the fabric restrictive, the design unflattering, or the uniform unsuitable for their specific body type. This can lead to discomfort and a negative impact on their self-confidence and overall well-being.

4. Lack of Preparation for Real World: Proponents of non-uniform policies argue that allowing students to dress in their preferred attire prepares them for the realities of the professional world, where individuality and appropriate self-expression are valued. Uniforms, they contend, create an artificial environment that does not reflect the diversity of real-life workplaces.

In conclusion, the debate surrounding the rule of wearing uniforms to school is multifaceted. While uniforms can promote equality, discipline, and a sense of belonging, they also restrict individuality and freedom of expression. Striking a balance between the advantages of uniformity and the importance of self-expression is crucial. Schools should consider implementing flexible dress codes or allowing students some leeway in their choice of attire, fostering an inclusive environment that respects both unity and individuality.
